hydrolic top link

could someone with more know how explain the pros and cons of a hydrolic top link?
looking at possibly hooking one up to my LS 4041 and would think possibly aid in hookups
and staying in adj. place thanks

No cons except for cost, but once you start using it that con is quickly forgotten.

I have found no cons. The major advantage, for me, is the ability to adjust ground engagement implements "on the go". I initially thought they were just a lot of fluff. However, after using the hyd top link, I wouldn't be without it. Rather than just looking back and thinking "well, that's good enough" - you can tweak it until it is perfect.

I haven't found any cons, and have found quite a few more uses for it than I realized. I have found that the ability to "float" the top link has really increased use and efficiency for the jobs I do. I certainly recommend getting one with the option to float it if your valve arrangement allows that.

One negative thing about how you will feel after realizing all the positives of a hydraulic top link is you will soon be coveting a hydraulic side link...

Depends on what implement you are using it with. I think the most use of the top link while actually using an implement would be with a box blade. Besides making it easier to hitch to the implement, once you are using your box blade you can at a touch of your finger tips adjust how the box cuts either by shortening or lengthening the top link.

Shorter equals more aggressive cutting and lengthening would put the rear cutting edge down for smoothing purposes or the exact opposite if you are grading in reverse which typically is not a good idea if done aggressively. Same applies to other implements as well, but a box blade is the most common that I can think of.

The second most useful would be pallet forks or a fork lift:

I use a Quick Hitch on my Kubota. I also have TnT that I built. Makes most 3pt attachments much more useable. Also dramatically improves hitching to an attachment. It allows you to do this without leaving the seat.

Hydraulic top link+ quick hitch = very easy and quick change of compatible implements with out pushing pulling fighting kicking pounding straining cussing or even getting out of the seat.

I can change from my box blade to my pulverizer to my rake in seconds just by backing up to them and pulling levers. Plus I can adjust them on the fly with another pull of the lever.

Another plus for me is with a mower on you can really get a lot of lift when loading on a high trailer or going through a ditch. or angled drop if backing up to mow a sloped bank.
