Got my muck bucket ready and going to drain the fluid tonight, despite single digit temps. This should be loads of fun. I'll do what you said as well Jim...check the fluid in the crankcase and see if it's high. Thanks for the advice. When I changed the crankcase oil a few weeks ago there was no water in it and it was at normal level. I haven't run the tractor much at all so I am hopeful that the seal around the shaft hasn't failed. Good advice, sincerely appreciate it.

Drained the fluid and cracked the hydro lines to drain as much of that junk out as possible. I'll let it sit for a few days then when the temps come back up I'll button it back up, change the filter and refill the case. About 15 gallons came out of it. The book calls for 30.6 quarts. That's 7.65 Gallons so there was nearly twice the amount of fluid it needed. Some people shouldn't be allowed to own equipment. Here's a pic of the fluid that came out of it.

also, jinman...checked the oil in the crankcase. It's clean and @ normal level...so that's good news. Thanks for the tip. I feel a little better now. Just went out to look at it again...still dripping fluid out of the lift cylinders and everywhere else I could find to open it up.

Everybody here is cheering you on. You are doing a fine job of getting this tractor back to normal operation. I just hope it continues to go so well and you come out smellin' like a rose.:thumbsup:
