hydrostatic VS gear on TC30 model?

I have a TC29D that is hydro. For the loader use I love it. I even have had an opportunity to run a tiller for our garden a couple of times and I believe as slow as I had to go at times it would be a pain if you didn't have hydro. If your new to tractors or haven't been around them much then hydro still would be the way to go. The gear would work for all of this stuff but not as convienient. If your dealer has a standard tranny tractor there with a loader on it have him let you drive it around the yard a bit and play with it like you going to do some loader work.

I have the TC30 Hydro.

Never had another tractor to compare it to, but I wouldn't change it. Got 150 hours on it and the only "accident" was from (the betterhalf) forgetting how long the rake was and clipping the taillight on the truck. I'm sure that if I had gone gear I/We would have bumped a lot more things by now.

Like you, I liked the look of the DA better, and might if had to do it over again, swing the extra 4-5k for a 29, but would not go down to a 24, though if you plan on doing a lot of FEL work the vision is a very pertinent factor, I have to lean way out to the side to even see the bucket (woods 1009) but think that with some more seat time(if I can get it away from the wife) it will become one of those things where you just "know" where it is, so the hood just kind of extends the learning curve.

Might spend some thought time on tires too...I think you have to special order the TC30 if you want Ag's now, even tho that's the lower cost option. (got my R4's at ag price because factory mis labeled crate) Plenty of posts to check on that....
