TC40,
I added to rear remotes to my TC40A this past fall. I purchased the kit from my New Holland dealer. I also purchased a Top link. The installation went smooth up to the point of connecting my top link. When I went to the dealer to have my hoses made up they made them in 3/8" but when I went home and put everything together my Quick Connects were 1/2". This caused another trip back to dealer to get the right fittings. They sold me the right ones but said the kits are supposed to be 3/8" from New Holland. So I took the parts home and installed them on my cylinder and connected to my tractor. Cannot get any movement out of my cylinder. Any Ideas on what to check???????? : /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif:

If you have a FEL, take your toplink up to the FEL quick connects and connect the toplink to either the raise or curl circuit. If it works there, then the problem is in your remotes or remote quick connects. If it does not work, then the problem is in the toplink quick connects. Are you sure your quick connects are the proper type? You can take one off (completely remove the fitting) from the toplink and insert it into the remote and see if fluid squirts out when you move the remote lever also. This should tell you if the quick connects are compatible.

I will try the quick connects sometime this weekend. I assumed they shoud be right. Purchased them at dealership where I bought rear remote kits. But then they said it should be 3/8" not 1/2".

As Jim said check the disconnects to see if the male and female are compatible. There are several types/styles of disconnects and not all of them are compatible even though they go together perfectly. Your dealer should be able to tell them apart but then again you never know.

1. Everything on my farm is 1/2", so I had to throw away the 3/8" that came with my kit & put on the 'proper' 1/2 quick connects. You wouldn't be able to get mis-matched sizes connected....

2. Both the male & female parts have numbers stamped on them. Take those numbers to the Pioneer web site or your dealer, & see if they are compatable. There are some types that look the same, but don't work.

3. did you ever get the air bled out of everything? With the cylinder hooked up, work the levers for a while. The air should work itself out, but it can take some time for that to happen, esp with everything new & untested.
