There is an HD near my selling dealer. I have to admit I like that store better than the local Lowes. And the local Lowes seems to have some knowledgeable people there working next to the glorified stock boy types.
Maybe I'm biased because I saw two good mom and pop hardware stores close very shortly after Lowes came to town, and now the old Lowes store is standing empty because they built a new and bigger one a half mile away, leaving a pretty serious eyesore in our rapidly growing commercial section.
Both Lowes and TSC sell lawn tractors here. You can get the cheaper Cub Cadets or the low end Deeres along with the Murrays, Huskees, etc. I don't know what impact it has on our tractor dealers, but it can't be good.
What about you dealers out there? Do you feel any impact from big box sales of lawn/garden equipment? In sales or service areas? Do you service equipment bought at those stores? Do you notice any difference in the tractors sold there?
