hyraulic pruning tool on 3320

My tractor has the power beyond because I have the 375 hoe but I don't want to remove or disconnect the hoe hydraulics to go lopping. It's too cold out right now for me to look see if there are any auxilliary connections available off the power beyond. If not, maybe I can add some. 3rd SCV might be a good option.
.

There is no "aux connections off of the PB lines"...

Suppose he could go between hoe and tractor in the PB circuit with another SV, no ?

jdjllee,

I have about 5 of those hyd limb cutters that were used by the electric crews to maintain their lines. Mine are closed center. I also have the hyd backpack hyd pump and the hyd chainsaw, and a hyd pruner pole with a 10 in bld. Even though mine is closed center, I was thinking of using a solenoid to operate the hyd.

Just put some QD's in your curl circuit, and plug in there. You could install an additional relief valve for the pole pruner if necessary.

Do you have experience with that Stanley PR41131 you attached thumbnail?
I saw that one on-line also. I might could get that one a bit cheaper.

You wouldn't have to. Could be easily set up with some QCs.

Yes, that would work also...but due to the small size of the valve on the pruner it may not be a good idea. The 3rd SCV I think may be best.

Those are some impressive tools! Never imagined that a hydraulic powered unit was available... (shows what I know!).

I didn't look at all the pictures but the ones I did review looked to be closed circuit. At least, that's what I'd expect them to be - given that there's not a 2nd return line - only one hyd line from the tractor, etc. to the pruner.

That particular pruner will take up to 9 GPM.

My backpack hyd pump and pruners are in storage right now. . I plan to check them out and put them on Ebay or Craigslist in the near future. The psi limit on that pruner is 2000. So if the pruner is set up for open center, you could plug it in your curl circuit or another circuit.

They also make a pole mounted hyd chainsaw, and a 10 in circular blade with carbide teeth.

The pruners cut pretty well on live wood, about 2.5 in, but on dead wood, it is sometimes difficult. The hyd chainsaw works better in those situations.
