a zero turn mower is not designed to mow fields
I absolutely love my ztr BUT...

Thanks - I appreciate everyone's input! Although I didn't initially plan on purchasing a ztr and tractor, it appears having both may have been the best route to go anyway. I also feel like the Lord enabled us to find some pretty good deals, which makes the pill a little easier to swallow. 
I guess the only reason I doubted is b/c I didn't get exactly what I was looking for in a tractor.
Being 2WD, the jury is still out concerning how well it will actually perform in the field. I haven't had a chance to go in any uncharted territory since changing the fluids. However, I expect the R1s on the tractor will outperform the turf tires on the ztr. But even if it gets stuck, at least it won't prevent me from mowing the lawn. :thumbsup: The only other thing I wanted, besides perhaps a lil more HP, was a loader. I can't really even think of anything I would actually do with one. However, I figured if I was going to spend new tractor money, I might as well get one with a FEL. I looked into adding an aftermarket loader but was quoted somewhere in the ballpark of 4k, which is basically another tractor.
Hopefully, this one will still find other uses on our property. Paying someone $200 a couple of times a year isn't too bad. It may have been even cheaper now that it's been tamed. However, it feels good to not have to depend on anyone. We were looking forward to having it bush hogged so we could see what kind of land we are working with. As it turns out, they actually classify areas as flood zones for a reason. The bush hog guy advised getting some dirt and hiring a dozer to perform a 'turtleback' would improve the drainage. However, since we don't currently have any plans for the field, we'll probably just wait and see how well it dries on it's own.
