I've been using Tractorsmart.com lately due to their great ordering system. I can download a parts PDF file from them, look up the part number I need, then just type it in on their website. The website then returns a description of the part so that I can verify that is what I want, then I proceed to checkout. Easy. User friendly. Arrives via UPS within a few days. Prices seemed in line with other sites I've been to. Seems like the other parts folks need to get a similar system ASAP. Like others, I don't like to call in orders. Too easy for communication mistakes to happen - I have extra tractor parts in my shop to prove it.

Hey Inspector........ can you work the same magic on Tractorfan and get his info???? or possibly get him to fill in his profile. I was thinking that maybe we should boycott peoples comments if they don't fill in the profile after say 90 days. It isn't like we are going to go out and visit them. Just makes it nicer to know what type of tractor they have and where they are from.

I had already done that and knew about their site. They even have a 18' dual wheel trailer for sale at a good price.

I have always wondered why people won't fill out the profile, even if they give a generalized location as to where they live, such as "Puyallup, Washington" or something such as that. If they wish to stay anonymous, then they can't expect to have much input from the members. If they are a dealer of tractors, they should be proud of it and put that in also.

It makes a big difference when trying to help someone with a problem to know what type of ground they till and the type of weather that they encounter. Just like answering questions about the tractor. If you know the brand and model, it make a big difference in how a question might be answered. All this is mute, if they are here to just lurk, but if they post, this is valuable information needed to help....

It is my guess that Tractorfan is associated with Jennings Equipment and KubotaStore in some way, because half of his postings are recommending only this one dealer and no others. The postings are very knowledgeable and seem more like what a dealer would post than the average tractor owner. If this is the case, then he should come out of the closet and advertise on the website, not try to get advertising in by the back door. This isn't fair to the advertisers that support the site with their advertising dollars, such as Carver, Coastal, Artrac, J & I Power, etc. I am willing to support the people that support this site, and have made purchases from 3 different merchants so far this year from advertisers. The power of advertising is great, and the loyalty of TBN members is even greater. Just my opinion, nothing more. I can't speak for the rest of the people on the site.......

Junkman,
I have to agree with you. I was smelling SPAM on this one from the beginning. If I am wrong.... my apologies Tractorfan. I really appreciate the informative posts and replies from all the participating dealers. They provide an invaluable service on this site. However, I don't appreciate dealers coming in the back door to get business. I get enough SPAM in my inbox every morning.

I totally agree with you . If the guy's a dealer , he should state it( where He's from , what he sells ) . If the person is just looking for answers he should fill out his Bio to help[ answer the questions he's asking .
The question " I want a CUT to mow and do some other things around the property " Just makes me go to the bio to find out what size property he has . If the Bio's blank it just begs more questions . John

John:

Let raise the bar a notch as a famous chef says.........

I'd put my home address in my profile, it's just that someone might come by and get bit from one of the dogs.

Junkman:

You are being pretty hard on the newbies. A little slack would be nice.
