A 50 year old running Ford 8n around here is $2-4k all day long. So assuming your boat value is right & that tractor runs, its a good deal. If the tractor isn't running & needs some work its probably still an OK deal. If there are any implements its back to a great or good deal.

I'm a big fan of barter. It sounds like your boat currently has $0 value to you, but $1,600 to others. Trading something of 0 value to you for something useful is always a good idea even if the $ value isn't the same.

"Chances are it's a Ford 1600 or 2000, or maybe you'll get lucky and it will be a 2600 or a 3000. The only way you could lose is if it's an old broken down 8n and the implements are really crusty."

Sounds like a win-win to me ... you both get something you want. That it has a loader and implements is a big plus .... with a little tlc you could have a real workhorse.
