Buying Advice I am looking for a new tractor, suggestions and reasons?

My first tractor was a new 2005 Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto, 4WD, hydrostatic tranny, power steering) with the LA302 front end loader (FEL, 4-ft wide bucket, 850 lb lift to about 6 ft height). Cost $12.6K. In 2008 I traded it in for a much larger tractor, Mahindra 5525 (55 hp engine, 45 hp pto, 2WD, gear tranny, power steering). The Bota is the little orange tractor; the Mahindra is red.

You could probably get that B7510 now for $7K. Check around for an enclosure on the Web.

Good luck

Thank you VERY MUCH gladehound. I bookmarked the site so when the time comes In can check back and see what is available. That looks exactly like what I'm want! It just isn't the right time now. ☺

That tractor at that price will not likely be there in a month. It is also low hours. I would buy that in a heartbeat if I lived up there. But that is exactly what you need and tractorhouse always has something. When your ready to buy check them out. That is where I found mine GC2400.

For $100 to do a church parking lot may seem high and for 1" it is, depending on the size. Are you sure you want to be roped into taking on that responsibility. You will need to be there on the at all hours and times and you will be counted on. There are times when you will get 8-10" and that would be a handful for a small tractor if wanted done quickly. Also think about loading it to get it to the building.

I was involved with a similar situation in Beaver Dam, WI where they charge $75 or so, but they were johnny-on-the-spot where I could never have been.

I found that with a JD X740 garden tractor, 2 wheel drive with chains and weights and snowblower and mower I could do all those thing you listed, but not a big parking lot unless a bunch of time was afforded. I could move a 2k trailer around like nothing and mowing was a breeze. I generally had 4-7 acres with a driveway up to 700' long and it worked fine with a 47" 2 stage snowblower. Never come close to getting stuck as long as I was going forward.

I agree with this post. Doing a church is far different from doing your own driveway. You may need something bigger than a SCUT depending on the size of the church lot. It could amount to pushing a lot of snow.

The guys doing it for $100 are giving them a deal and if you step in and agree to do it you will be committed. But since you said you have the time you could do it with any size tractor, might just take longer.
