Looks better than many to me. I wouldn't even paint the spots but just spray with some light oil from a spray can that has a straw for a nozzle. It doesn't look like it sat outside that much from those photos.

All my tractors were prepped and cleaned up and 11 years later I have bright orange dabs of paint from the Kubota touch up paint in the bottle and brownish looking deflectors on the mowing decks where cheap orange spray paints were used by the dealer. Not always better.

I use Van Sickle for the Orange and Rustoleum Charcoal Grey for the other stuff and J.I. Case Power White under the hood on the Grand L before they changed to all grey.

Some of the rust is from stuff that was shielded from the paint gun nozzle.

Like many have said - it sat out in the weather. Its nothing that will bother functionality and you can easily touch it up.

Welcome and Nice Tractor!

Congrats!!

When we buy new items we expect them to be in show room condition, with cars this is usually the case but with tractors, not always. I have looked at new tractors in worse shape than this, year old stock that sat out in a dealers lot. I would make them buy you touch up paint, touch it up and that will clean everything up real nicely.

"Rust? That's not rust. This is rust." Try living near the ocean.

We use three products a lot. Sheath is a Birchwood Casey oil designed to protect guns. Fluid Film is a Lanolin-based product that

Nice tractor. I just bought a B2650 from them last week. Guess I will have to go out to the garage and look it over.

Sure am glad you aren't inspecting any of my tractors.

What are you going to do if you ever have to actually work it?

I did notice one spot and asked if the tractor was brand new, I was assured it was and only had 1.5hrs. You're right I should have looked more closely but I was too anxious and excited. In all fairness I rushed the dealer to get it to me before the storm on Monday. They were going to install the mower and brushgaurd but I said I would pick it up later if they could get it to me today. They maybe did want to prep it but I pushed to get it. Im just going to touch it up. I feel more at ease, Thanks guys! I also think I got a pretty good deal.

This was not Ahearn it was Toreku in Ayer.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there.:D As the others have said, it's no big deal, but naturally we like what we buy to LOOK new. I bought two new Kubotas in the '90s and when inspecting them after delivery, I couldn't find a spec of dirt or rust, but as anxious as I was, I didn't rush the dealer. In fact, when I bought the second one, they had to order a FEL for it, and it so happened that one of my brothers was by the dealer the day before it was delivered. He called and told me he'd seen my new tractor and they told him it was ready to deliver the next day, "after the touchup paint dries.":)

I mentioned spraying oil earlier and it really helps. My things stay inside and I wax the sheet metal every couple of years. Any other things that show any inkling of rust get a blast of Deere spray oil in the can that comes with a straw. After a while, the lightly rusty areas patina and things look great.

Here's a thread on a brand new Kubota I bought. It did sit outside for a while so you can see that it's slightly faded--not on the sheet metal--but on some of the accessory parts. I'll wax or oil when it warms up and it will be fine. Look at the photos of the faded brackets.

Again, I'm not seeing what you're seeing so if any doubts, post more photos.
