The pallets I built use four uprights and a short length of wire fence to make a 3 sided box to keep the wood from falling off. (Leaving one side open makes it easier to load/unload.) Sorry I don't have any decent pics, but I think you get the idea.

Thanks, Steve, and yes, I'd like the pics! It seems like you and I share the hills, and your approach soundslike where I was going - but at the same time, I didn't want to "over-engineer" the thing, I'm short on time and have a lot to get moved.

Funny, this very computer literate guy (I can program in serval languages and build my own machines, etc) tried searching and din't get anything. Maybe I should have tried harder, varied some terms, etc. But then I thought, aw start a thread and let everyone post everything... a sort of "Carry-all Hall of Fame."

I have been reading this forum for a long time now and have got a lot of good info from here,,,, finally took the time to join up and thought I would try to post a pic of the carry all I just finished up. The main use for it is working on fence. Anyway, I hope the pic works and I am looking forward to adding my two cents every once in a while to pay back for some of the info I have gained from reading here,,, ,,, ,,,, slagmaker

Kring -- I resurfaced our deck this summer with solid vinyl deck boards and had a few pieces left over. When I saw another chainsaw holder on one of the TBN forums that someone had made from a plastic cutting board, I thought why not use the vinyl deck board? The material is about 1"x 5 1/2" so I dadoed out a slot the width of the bar and chain (about 3 1/2" I think) and screwed it to one of the wooden walls of the carryall box. The saw bar just slips into it and the saw is also supported by the carryall box frame. I will try to post in pics this weekend.

I bought the Leinbach PL-12 carry all with frame. See this URL of the bare bones unit.

Then I added a cut sheet of 3/4 exterior ply wood, painted and the threw a sheet of scrap metal on top to protect the plywood when hauling concrete blocks.

One of the tractor shows near by had one like this set up with several chairs to ferry old folks around the show.

Now for the fire wood crib. Fasten 3 pallets in a u shape and put a horizontal brace across the back (or on front and back). (method 1)

(method 2) 2 inverted u shape pipes welded on 2 cross beams or pipes laying on a pallet. Check Northern Tool for wood cribs for some ideals.
