I accidentally poked a hole in a bag of cement and came up with this idea.

It stops the gate from hitting the truck as I drive through on a windy day.

I looked at that reeaall close. I am pretty sure that is called one of them there dohickular thingamabobajigs. Thought it was a whatchmacallit's, but don't think that's it.

That's a pretty slick gate restraining device. It's always a pain when you're getting about 1/3rd of the way through the gate and swings against your truck! Good thinking to rescue that sack of concrete.

Don't look now but that gate looks like it's already beat something to death. I hope it wasn't your truck.

The stop was a good idea.

NOw that you've such a nice gate stopper, you need a new gate. If'n you just used a couple pieces of stove wood, the old gate would'a been fine.

If he replaces the gate, the stopper won't work. It's that curve in the top rail that allows the stopper to fit under the wheel. Besides, A new gate won't swing right.....:D

You guys crack me up.:D Replacing the gate was one of my "retirement" projects but the wife scratched it off the list!??? she like the unusual bends and wavy design. The owner before let everyone, and their dog, hunt on the property before he sold it to us. The gate was in this shape when we bought the property 13 years ago. We often give directions: "go to the gate of the the drunken deer hunters..." :)

I've never hunted drunken deer. Are they any easier to shoot? ;)

Actually the toughest part is convincing the deer to fall off the wagon.

If you can't replace it then paint it!!! You could almost call it art if it looks fancy enough.
