I looked at a used 72" mower on Craigslist. It was a Woods weighing in at 650 lbs which is about 200 lbs more then my 60" Befco. Price wasn't bad either, but I just couldn't justify it (I'm only finishing mowing an acre...I do more brush cutting).
With that kind of weight, you need to keep the loader on or get front weights. I don't use weights for my Befco and I do mow with the loader off. Thats easier on the front axle (this applies to any tractor, BTW).
You do have a lot to select from...Kubota, Kioti, Mahindra, New Holland.
All I can attest to is how well the 790 does.
