I hope you recover quickly. I am older. It seems like when you get older, you don't pick your feet up as high as before. Makes is easy to trip or stumble. And those shoulders injuries can be soooo painful. Makes you stop - don't move that arm - It hurts like hell. I have one of those. I hope you lose the sling and feel better soon without the sharp pains. Best Wishes,Larry

I fall a couple times each spring. Ground is frozen - softball sized rocks are loose because they are in the sun. They spin/twist when stepped on - down I go.

Hope U have a speedy and complete recovery.

Hope you get well quick.

Just listen and follow exactly what the doctor tells you on healing that shoulder. Haven't had one (dislocated shoulder) probably in the last 30 years, but when I was younger, it happened more than a couple of times to my left shoulder, to the point on the last dislocation, I put it in myself.

I honestly don't think when I was younger I listened to the doctors "word for word" on how to heal it properly which led to the conversation of perhaps an operation.

Speedy recover SC, you got that new tractor that needs you to drive it!
Falling is never easy, and healing takes time, but it happens.
Be as patient as you can, it's hard, but required since you need that shoulder to be the best it can be.

5 months now, UPDATE

Thank you all for your prayers, concerns, thoughts, suggestions ... very much appreciated. I just found this thread back.

It took about 2 months to even get back to writing things down, using a computer, driving (couldn't grip steering wheel) holding a pen etc, but I'm getting there. Sorry for the delays in my notes / updates. I am starting to do bookkeeping and taxes again, but everything is scaled back.

I'm doing fine, but still on them mend. I am taking physio appts every 2-3 weeks and making progress, home exercises with the bands and grip type aids etc. Physio Therapist says that my physical recovery will probably take a year (ie Sept), so my target date is late June. Winter has been tough, and I am second-guessing every move / step. I have shoulder pain (manageable), sore arm, tingling in fingers and hand, but things are improving. Strength is my focus also, the setback is always my biggest challenge.

Climbing on / off the tractor, I need to adjust and figure it out right now, as my good side can't cope. It took 6 weeks before I could even hold the steering wheel of tractor or truck, so getting back to driving was very welcomed progress - I can go to town for groceries again.

As far as the bidet idea, yes, would be good. For the past 3 yrs, we have a walk-in-tub and there is a built in bidet jet (strategically placed :) , so I am managing also with that.

It is winter, and I do still wipe out a few times, but I'm managing, and not making things worse.

side note - I've had to do everything for a few months as my wife is up north assisting her father / family with his aging needs, health, dementia and planning long term care / assisted living (very difficult time for her) - she's been there since early November.

have an awesome day,
