I finally got my Grandpa’s tractor bought

I tried to buy this tractor while my grandpa was still with us but unfortunately he valued the tractor too much lol. My step grandmother agreed on a price and I picked it up just today.

The engine is free, it needs rings and idk what all else with the engine. It does have a PTO which isn’t common. Besides that it’s just a standard small bore GP.

Tractor is a 1929 John Deere General Purpose. I’m finally an owner of a Johnny Popper.

I sprayed it off after we unloaded it, I haven’t cleaned it up yet.

This tractor sat in a old sheep barn for over 20 years, wheels were sunk about a foot in the floor. Now it’s a bit more cleaned up on concrete, nice and dry.

Congratulations. It looks like the tractor is in very good condition. I always enjoyed the sound of them at tractor pulls when I was a teenager.

That's pretty awesome.

I inherited my Granddaddy's 1949 Dodge truck and his Remington 11-48 shotgun. I drove the truck until it started knocking and let one of my cousins have it. He took it apart but never rebuilt it and his family sold it when he passed. I still have the shotgun and many memories of hunting, fishing, and working along side my Granddaddy. I lived with my grandparents off and on throughout my childhood and spent every summer with them into my teens.

No, my grandpa used to take it to shows and things, not sure if he painted it or the person before him did. It’s an old restore.

Yes, they are cheaper, but they take a heck of a lot longer to cut the grass than your tractor will.

this is something for collection/show only. I doubt you can get a FEL, mid mount mower, or back loader for this, and if something ever broke on this, it would be a HUGE cost to fix.. it's nice to look at though, but don't run it too often..

It’s a 29, no FEL’s in those days, they were lucky to get rubber on the wheels.

It has a drawbar, PTO, Lift and I can run things with a belt.

I will be picking up a 2 bottom trip plough and taking it to a few plough days.

Mostly it will be for shows but I’m not gonna be scared to work the old girl when she’s back up and running.

That is a nice 90 year old tractor. I like one's like that look good but used. That is a nice starter you have setting in front of the 1929. It will look nice a plow days.
