Hi everybody. Big news in my household this weekend. My B7500 was finally delivered. Could'nt wait till all the attachments were delivered from Woods. Gotta tell ya, that machine is sooo much fun!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Spent 3 hours playing with it to get the feel and now its just second nature. I thought I would have trouble with all the levers but that was'nt the case. However, I had a heck of a time lining up the tractor to mount the bush hog!!! I think I'll invest in a quick hitch. This lining up stuff is cutting into my fun time!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
My land has been hayed for many years by a very large neighborhood tractor and man do I have large ruts, with the assorted gopher holes. My hog was digging into all the high spots and making a real mess (soil is damp from all the rain we have had recently). I sure would'nt recommend this size tractor for the CFO's manicured lawn. The loaded R4's do a number but with my sloped land, safety was more important.
Question> I'll be getting a woods 5' box scrapper next week. Is this the implement I need to level out those ruts? This field grass is pretty tough stuff. A dozer took off 3 inches of topsoil and grass and the stuff is growing from the roots. By the way, I'll also be getting a 6' rake that I hope to use by spreading a pile of topsoil I have left over from building my house. Is it better to box blade the ruts level or put down topsoil and use the rake?? (got about 10 acres of ruts)
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to share their tractor knowledge. That knowledge lead me to the awesome B7500. Thank you!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
