I got a New \"Toy\".

Yesterday, I got a new toy! I mean implement /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I got a Bush Hog 2101 post hole digger. Man does that thing dig a hole!!! My cousin, my wife and I unloaded out of the truck, and wrestled it onto the tractor. I was almost ready to bring that alligator back and keep diggin with the old manual post hole digger, but boy I was smiling after I saw how easy the first hole dug. I'm gonna have to figure some type of stand to off and on that thing bymyself though. Just wanted to share my joy with someone who would understand... Also on a double bonus, when I picked up my phd I ordered that Kubota 9 foot backhoe with 13 and 24" bucket. I feel your pain. I just wrestled my 2101 onto my tractor for the first time last weekend. That made my next decision easy. The first two holes were for a couple of 4x4s for a stand to hang the thing by. Nothing fancy, a couple of uprights with a cross member screwed near the top. Then hang that sucker with a chain. 10' 4x's with 3' buried worked just right. The top of the curve on the boom has to be 5' 11" off the ground to have the tip of the auger clear. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As an aside, check that the dealer installed the correct shear pin in the PTO shaft. The 2101 uses a special pin instead of a normal bolt (the hole on one side of the PTO shaft's yoke is larger than on the other). The yahoo that did mine installed a grade 5 bolt instead (the correct pin was in the bag with the Owner's Manual /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif).
