Hah! Of course those of us who have DK40s cannot figure out why the rest of you feel compelled to throw money at Kioti for using larger pistons. The tractors are identical except for your $2000+ pistons.

Newbies who fall prey to horsepower hype are spending money they could otherwise save or spend on implements. Think about it. An extra specialized implement is almost always a more efficient way to get work done than simply adding a handful of extra horsepower. Dealers and Kioti are the only ones who really benefit.

Don't want to rain on your parade and certainly hope you enjoy your DK but I couldn't let your comment go unchallenged.

I went with the DK40 too, partially to make sure I never think I have enough PTO HP to run a 4x4 round bailer and so I'll never get into doing hay myself!
I'm sure with a 7' snowblower or brush hog the extra HP might make things go a bit faster as well. But my budget was at the limit so I went with the HST instead of the extra hp and I've done about 12 hrs of loader work so far and I am very glad I did get the HST, as the extra 5 or 10 HP doesn't make much difference for that.

It seems for the OP uses though, the extra HP is probably a good idea, hope he continues to enjoy his tractor!

When I bought my DK 45 (2006) I don't think they made the 40 with a cab or 50, I believe the 50 replaced the 55 and no hydro for the 45. Pretty sure I would have gone with the hydro had it been available.
Good luck with your 50!

Indy, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have bailed over 500 rolls of 4x4 hay with my wee little Dk40 HST. Never had an issue and I run it in mid range only because my neighbor makes ginormus wind rows and our pastures are bumpy as heck.

I wanted a DK50 cab when i bought my DK45, but the 45 was in stock and the 50 would have to be ordered. The dealer was really willing to deal on the instock item, no so with anything needing ordering.

Im very happy with the purchase. Sure 5 HP more would be nice, but not missing it so far.

OH and congrats on the new tractor. mighty pretty lottle toy..er tool.

Oleozz, I think your DK45 is the DK45S not the DK45se right? That is an entirely different frame, engine etc from the current DKse series. I don't know why Kioti picked such a confusing nomenclature. Probably just copying Kubota again.;)
