Figured I'd step up and say hi! I've been lurking for a few months, reading as much as I could in preparation of buying a new tractor. I had a 641 Ford and broke some expensive gears:eek: Decided it was time to buy new so I found this site and read every tidbit I could find. Wow, what a great source of knowldge. Ya know, I learned the most from the threads that started "Stupid question...but" :D

I hope I can return the favor sometime but in the meantime... I'm gonna work up some stupid questions:D

Oh yeah, I ended up buying a Mahindra 3510 with a fel (you know, it took me about a week to figure out what a fel was)! I've got 67 acres in hilly SW Wisconsin and will use the tractor for drive maintenance, food plots, mowing and after lurking around here, the list seems almost endless!!!

If you're wondering about my user name, I use it on another duckhunting forum. My wife's from a small town and I'm typically introduced as "Shirley's husband". I used it on the other forum more as a joke but realized later, that's really who I am.

Thanks for all the great info so far. Now, it's off to look at the pictures I couldn't when not registered:eek:

You will be happy with it. I have had mine for about a year and have near 400 hrs on it. There would be more but Mr. Sunshine is not my friend this year.

Make sure your rear tires are loaded because you have a lot of loader out in front of you and you need the weight.

Only thing I would reccomend is on the right side where the hyd lines for the fel run behind the step is to take out the triangle that holds the hyd bracket low and move the whole mess up and rebolt it in the same holes.

I took pics a while ago (when I lost a hose in the woods) but no longer have them available but I may be able to find them on the home PC and post them.

I Welcome Shirleys Husband to the group. As you've probably noticed, there is a wealth of info here. Don't hesitate to ask stupid or any other questions although I think sometimes some answers are the stupid part.

pic one shows OEM placement of bracket, less the lower forward hose which went to the great hyd hose parts bin in the sky

Pic #2 is the little bracket that I removed. It was 4 bolts out and 2 back in. The whole assembly was raised and I cannot as of yet find a reason that the bracket was ever there in the first place. I have no hoses rubbing and I have had this mod done for over 200 hours.

You can see that the bracket and thus the hoses are protected by the frame now. There is a little coverage from the rt step also. The clearance you gain isnt just the 3 in from the bracket, the OEM installation cants the forward hoses down. Pulling the extender bracket seems to level them up some.

Varmintmist, the way you re-mounted your hoses is in about the same position the dealer mounted the hoses on my 4110 on install.

Hi Shirleyshusband

I like my Mahindra; 4110. Lot of info here and easy to get fast when you need it.

If it was'nt for the good info here, me and the 3510 would have had a little riff in our marriage yesterday. I got the BH all mounted up, drove to the farm, discovered the pto would'nt turn. Double checked everything to no avail. Then I remembered reading about the reset underneath the tractor. After a few seconds searching it over, I located it and pressed it with a screwdriver. If it was'nt for the info on this board, I would'nt had ever known about that and the field proably would'nt be mowed, like it is right now!

You're mowing with a backhoe (BH)??? I assume you used BH to mean a Bush Hog (R) brand rotary cutter (RC). To me, though, BH means backhoe.

I'm glade you remembered the reset. I hate when something simple like that prevents or causes delays in getting things done.
