Finished installing my work lights on my B3030. I have a canopy on my tractor so I installed them on the outside of my rops with the top of the light flush with the top of the rops. I installed the hella 100 h3 single beam close range. The reason I installed the lights is to cut grass after dark because its cooler. I live in south Louisiana. First thing that I noticed is the glare, especially bouncing of my glasses. Next thing is all the bugs that the lights attract. Yeah we have lots of bugs down here. And finally I'm not to impressed with the amount of light that they put out. I may have to end up doing the alternator upgrade and get more lights and mount them on the front of the tractor and use the single beams that I have now for rear facing. Do yall think I would do better installing the dual beam long range where the single beams are now and placing the single beam close range on the front. Anybody have lights mounted on the front of their tractor? What if I just placed the single beam on the front and not putting anything on the rops.
Thanks, Kenny

You may want to do search for "lights" or something. Some guy did a great mod where he mounted really small HID lights inside of steel pipe sections, maybe four inches long each (painted Kubota grey of course). The pipes were mounted on each side of the frame up front.

This provided illumination when the bucket was up. When the bucket was down, the factory grill lights provided the necessary light.

I agree about ROPS mounted lights... they only work well during the Winter... no bugs!! I don't use my forward-facing ROPS light in the summer.

Maybe a bug zapper on the ROPS would work:D

hehe, Don't know, bug zappers attract bugs first! :D I've always heard buy your neighbor a bug zapper for Christmas.

I suggest you talk to your dealer about trading in the lights for a Cab!

C'mon guys help me out. Do any of you have additional lights on the front of your tractor? If so, what kind and how do you have them mounted?

Here is what you are looking for. I mounted lightson the front of my B7800 weight bracket. Good photos and the details are easy.
On a separate tractor I mounted them on the top of my L4300 grill guard. Both work OK but the weight bracket lights keep the bugs far enough away and no shadows. I like to mow at dusk as well.
Wire direct to the batt and put a fuse in the middle. I used lights with an on-off button. Maybe someday I will wire better but I'm 60 and time is ticking...

here you go--i did the search

Thank, sixdogs, I started to install them there first but decided not to. I was afraid I might hit something and knock them off. I may end up doing this anyway.
Do you have any rear facing lights? I noticed last night when I was cutting and had to reverse, I could not see a thing. Also did you do the alternator upgrade?

I wired direct the the batt bolt as stated--with fuse--so no upgrade needed. I could light the Queen Mary--up to battery capability-- that way.
If worried about hitting something, just don't hit anything. Next option is to get a one inch steel bar and weld a bracket to it and bolt to remaining weght bracket holes. Space a foot away from "bumper." Then, bump away.
Forget lights off the back of the roll bar. Shadows is the problem and a better choice is on the fender in the hole provided. Wire is under seat and forget about alternator upgrade for one or two lights.
My light on the rear roll bar is not for farm use but rather in the event I would need general lighting in a residential situation.
