The problem with ground engaging type attachments on a BX is by the time you get one heavy enough to scratch hard ground, you have run out of traction.
As others have said, most tillers have feet that adjust how deep you till. I believe I read that you are from Manassas. Bryd Tractor on Rt. 28 rents 3-point equipment. Your BX will turn a 48" tiller just fine. I used to have one, but I sold it to a friend of mine. It worked just fine, and beat the heck out of a walk behind tiller.
