Thanks again after a good nights sleep I can reflect clearly on yesterday and I will have to say it was truly a blessed day. The weather was perfect the was church packed full. The bride was beautiful and the groom was handsome as well. A fellow church member brought his huge deuce and a half military truck for some pictures(only in WV and by my daughters request). There was food and fun for all. Thanks again guys for the support.

I will try to post some pics. It may take me a while to get to it.

I always had a routine with all the guys that came calling. I would show them my guns first. I would even show them the hand gun an angry father would use. That alone run off a few suitors with ill intent.
Then I would take them for an ATV ride and show them where I would hide a body if I ever needed to, like if someone ever hurt my daughter.
If the stayed around after that then they had to fill out and application to date my daughter. This application is rather lengthy and usually takes 4-6 years for processing.
If they still stayed around and he did then he probably has good intentions.

I laughed so hard and cried at the same time. This plan resembles mine almost exactly. I am planning on telling the young suitor one thing after doing all the above...

"Remember son, Whatever you do to her, I WILL DO TO YOU!!!".

My oldest daughter just got married in May. I didn't feel things the way you do. I did cry at one point, not sure why. I think it's because she was so happy.

I feel my daughters choice is a good man. He treats my daughter well and is very respectful to me, especially during the early days, but he earned my respect by not being intimidated by me. I didn't do anything that would have threatened him tho. We talked a fair bit so I could get to know him.

I wouldn't want my daughters to be with someone who isn't brave and confident.

Congrats and glad ya'll had a nice day for the service. The tough part comes now that she's not at home anymore. Same goes for her husband - he's not his mother's "little boy" anymore. I pray the best for you all during what can be a difficult transition.

My advice plot early. My daughter asked me when she was about 3 "when can I start dating?" to which I responded " I think that it would be fine to start dating at about 35 years old." That bought me a little time till she figured out that 35 was old.:laughing:

Glad your daughter got a good man. I would and love accept any man my daughter chose. I love her that much. He has entered a new stage. This is the acceptance stage. He's in the family he's one of us and now he can never leave now. :laughing:
