I have found the perfect tractor

Thegoose - It looks like your last post was on Oct 9 and today is Oct 25. Just wondering if you made a purchase?

You have two nice machines under consideration. I find it rather comical and interesting that the Deere is the more expensive of the two. When I purchased a tractor 5 years ago, I went looking for a Kubota and found the Deere to be less expensive. Two years ago I moved up from a 4310 to a 3520 and considered a similar Kubota. Once again, the Deere was the lower price of the two.

In my situation, both dealers give great service, but the green paint cost less than the orange paint.

Whatever your choice, good luck. From what you have written, either machine should work out nicely for you.

GOOD LUCK.

Maybe he just bought a JD and is trying to get his 'justification' together?

I agree with DanD78, I am currently pricing a JD 2305 and there is 2K difference between JD dealers.

Sorry, I just saw this post.

Yes, I purchased a Kubota L3400 HST for $18,000. I also got a 5' disc, forks for the bucket, and a seeder/spreader for an additional ~$1500. So far I put about 10 hours on the machine and I am very happy with the results.

I took a lot of flak on this thread for not choosing the green but I feel that the Kubota fit my needs perfectly and for a good price.

No, the Kubota does not directly compare to the 3520, it probably fits in somewhere between the 3038e and the 3520, which is exactly what I was looking for. Best deal I could make on the 3520 HST with 300CX was ~$22K and several JD dealers called me an outright lier when I tried to negotiate from this price. I finally found one dealer who would play ball but still much higher than my budget. That and Kubota had better financing.

I am very pleased with the tractor and learned a lot about tractors from this site.

I agree with you about paying for the paint, but I found the same thing with green, orange and blue. So I went with the burnt orange Kioti. Didn't want HST so I got a DK40SE 40hp, with loader, loader rears, cutting bar and delivery 50 miles away for 19,500. Did it all over the phone and the dealer didn't even want a deposit. The 40 hp JD was only 3 cyl, a 1000 lbs lighter, lifted 1300+lbs less and without the loadedtires cutting edge and rear hydraulics and was $5,500 more!!!

Always wanted a new JD, but just couldn't justify it. Good luck with yours!
