Another thing to consider is, simply that although the cheaper filter may have the same dimensions, it may not be equivalent to the OEM filter. As an example, a furnace filter can be purchased for $1 or $10. :2cents:

You forgot the power steering filter, $90 for my 33D a couple years ago.

when I first started going to my local Napa, they remembered who was who and if you were a steady customer, the discount always got applied. No more, at least not locally. The list price is so high it's silly at times. Yes, if I could save thirty percent off Napa, I'd never leave their store, but for us full retail guys, they are getting less attractive when you can order stuff online that is made by Wix for half the price.
