I've almost lost mine a 1/2 dozen times. I now place it on my seat while filling

Dad told me over 45 years ago to put the fuel tank cap and fuel container cap on the seat. Guess he was tired of replacing them

I had a bad habit of losing them as a 12 year old ( that's how old you had to be to drive the tractors) = its works
