May be a multiple birth. We have some friends with a doe that drops triplets almost every time. Last time I saw her, she looked like a flying saucer on toothpicks. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

You may want to post about it over on CBN. There's at least 3 of us that have the critters, and I'd like to see more.

( we have a peach orchard and I have heard and read that eating peach tree leaves would make goats deathly ill. I have put off getting the goats because about all our land is peach orchard. Anyone knows if there's any truth to that? )

I don't know about them getting ill - my neighbor's goats seem to eat just about everything when they come over and they're still around /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

But one thing that they will do that is relevant to your orchard is eat the bark off the trees when they get hungry (deer will also do this quite a bit). That can be a fatal problem for the trees, especially if the bark gets fully "ringed". We've got pears and plums and I've lost a couple of trees that the bark got stripped off of...Chris

Cindi, I know cherry leaves are poisonous to goats. They contain cyanide, and cause a horrible death. We have friends that lost a goat to cherry leaves. I'll see what I can find out about peach leaves. I've never heard that they're poisonous, but ya never know!!

I think that was Fla Cracker that was concerned about the peach leaves. I WISH we had some peach trees.

I would swap some peach trees any day for the smell of a grove full of orange blossoms. This time of year we really miss living down in Indian River County just for the blossoms.

I do like the peach orchard though. It's been a lot of fun, and it's been run as U-pick, so the customers do most of the work!

How are the oranges this year?

Well as a matter of fact they're all in bloom right now. Smells great, wreaks havoc on the sinuses. I have to wait every year for SC peaches and would gladly swap you. I don't think they'll grow here though.
