Things do happen fast. I thought I was going up hill but the hill has a compound slant. My front wheel went into a hole I couldn't see and before I could react, over I went. It actually wasn't a frightening as I thought it would be. It was easy to get it back up on the tires using a strap and my F250 diesel pickup. One thing. set your emergency brake before you right it. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm really happy that I took the manuals advice and wore my seat belt. Got a few cuts on my finger but I sure won't drive a tractor without a roll bar and seat belt.

I'm letting the tractor set till tomorrow morning and then I'll check the fluids before I start it. Anything else I should do?

I think that you got a pretty good plan on letting it set for a period of time to let the fluids drain back. I would check to see if anything had gotten bent. I can't imagine that you did much damage but now is the time to look it all over closely as I'm sure is your plan. Good luck and I'm glad you didn't get seriously hurt. Oh, I would do one last thing..... FILL THE HOLE.

Glad you're still with us unscathed. Hope there's no serious damage to your tractor.

Yup, Get back in the saddle and fill that stupid hole in before you flip it again. I flipped my old Ford 8N once. It was so slow and kind of funny at the time. Glad to hear nothing got damaged, personal or machine.

Glad your o.k.
If it was upside down for any length of time it is possible a cylinder filled with oil and you could actually bend pushrods trying to start it. I would pull the glow plugs and turn engine over to purge cylinders before you try to start it, better safe then sorry.

Glad to hear you're ok. I've been over 3 times in my 40 plus years tractoring. The studies that always get me are the ones from the people who keep records regarding farm accidents that say that 70% of all tractor rollovers are fatal.

There has been a question regarding moving this to the safety thread, but as your real questions are concerning what else you should do before operating a machine that has rolled over, I think we should leave it here.

What do you folks think?

We put a JD 755 on its side. We called sevice at the dealer and they said let it rest, check the fluids and try it. That's what we did - and it's still going strong two years later.

I agree let it settle, check all fluids, turn engine over by hand if possible. I would run the starter with the kill switch pulled out to listen for strange sounds, then crank her up and fill the hole.

I think this is the proper place for his question.
