About fluids locking the motor;
Last winter during super heavy rains (my neighbor measured 133 inches! last season) the water leaked past the weld on my spark arrestor during one particularly heavy stormy 10 day period and filled my tractor motor from the top down!
It would not even turn over with the starter and new battery; I finally checked the oil and got a bath when I pulled the dipstick out!
Fortunately after removing the glow plugs and turning the motor over a bunch of times and then putting in new oil it fired right up.
To make a long story short; the point is that if the combustion chambers are full of something I doubt the motor will even turn over so I doubt anything can get hurt.
Am I wrong?
I am glad you weren't hurt when your tractor turned over! It makes a person realize that care on sideways hill adventures is a must.
