I purchased my tractor specifically with turf tires for several reasons.
1) I mainly mow grass
2) Snow is the next chore(and i usually get a lot of it)
3) 2 link ladders on turfs(what I use)............ain't much gonna stop that combo.
4) Ground engaging work was the last concern. I do a substantial amount, and it is a bit rougher with turfs..........but one must consider the primary uses.
I have not used chains on my tires on anything other than snow(this includes heavy FEL work).
If I were to have R4's, and a gravel driveway.......I would use specialized aggressive chains for snow removal, on anything but a flat driveway.
