I just bought an Echo 2511t clone for $99. What was I thinking?

I like the 2 in 1 style sharpeners for field sharpening, but get better results with an Oregon electric bench grinder. It's probably more a reflection of my lack of chain sharpening skills with a file than anything else.

My filing skills are much less effective than the Granberg 🤣

My hand filing is embarrassing.
My hand filing is quite good, even if I must say so myself! ;-)

But I enjoy the speed of those hand held multiple file tools (mine is a Stihl)

I hand sharpen with the Pferd sharpener about 5 times, and then take the chain into the shop.

That's similar to what I used to do - I was doing a fair amount of CSM on hardwood years ago. Sharp chain was a priority. I tried a Granberg, a couple of variations of "file in a guide", local sharpeners. and even bought a Northern Tool Bench mount sharpener.
The local sharpeners were not good, the "file in a guide" were so-so, the Bench mount was great, but bench mount. Finally settled on a routine of do about 10 foot of tree 3 times, touch the chain up freehand. Do that maybe 3 times, slap on the Granberg get the angles a little better, do that 3 times (9 hand files, 3 Granbergs), use the Bench mount.
