That remark reminds me of a conversation one time we had on a job. I was the old guy and the rest of them were in their twenties. Somehow someway the subject came around to hitting a woman.

I explained my position on that subject.

A young man tentatively asked me what I'd do if my daughter was one of those that just bruised easily.

I pointed out that someone would learn real quck to eliminate hazards that caused said bruises. Even to the point of following her around with a pillow for something he'd have missed.

I'm real lucky. Both of my son in laws share one really important quality, well, they both have a lot of great qualities. But the important one is they love their mother dearly. I've always heard that if a man loves and respects his mother he'll love and respect his wife.

I think Junkman is pulling a wroughtnharv on ya'll. Here I was the one who encouraged and enlisted women on my crews in telephone construction to do the traditional male work.

But I was also the one to initiate a conversation with, "I can't believe they have you girls doing this work. Some man is working at McDonalds because you've taken his job." Just to stir things up you understand.

Some people were born with a spoon just for stirring the pot. I suspect more than one member of TBN came with a snow shovel. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a friend who told me of his experience when he was dating an attractive young lady. He went to her home to pick her up for a date. Her father did not speak but just stared at him intently. As they were leaving the father pulled the young man aside and said five words to him, "Have you ever been dead"!
He said he thought a lot about those words and took them to heart. He never saw the young lady again. Having a daughter I can relate to the father /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Junkman,

Yep. Been a wimp with the same woman for almost 25 years. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I saw how my grandpa treated my grandma and how my dad treated my mom. I treat my wife the same way and it works just great for us, too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Von,
You've got some guts! I only have an old Landcruiser and an old IH in pieces. A Unimog would put her over the edge! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Notice the background 'debris' in those restoration pics...boat, tractor, personal watercraft, car under cover, new metalworking gear..........

Money makes the restoration.

My budget won't even buy the boat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great find Von, I've had the same Mog fetish since my Matchbox days as well. Siku makes some newer die cast Unimogs, which is about all I'll ever own /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This guy's mog looks as bad as the one I just got.

And for what that guy must have put into his he could have bought a brand new one. New cab!!! Very nice restoration, obviously not financially challenged. Any idea if he's finished and if there are more pictures?

And we'll need pics of yours throughout /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cowboydoc, I have not tried it yet, just got back from Boston. My 17 yr old is thinking of going to Northeastern, so we went to check out the school. Looks like I'm out $39k for the next 4 years (really 5 yrs. but you only pay for 4 with co-oping) I hope to work on it this week. My son started sucking out the mice nest from under the hood. There is not much left of the wiring /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif But with diesel you don't need electric, just to the starter! I'll let you all know what happens in a few days!
