Only if you allow it to happen. I have only been married once. My wife has been married twice. I only intend to be married once. Once is enough. I don't intend to get divorced and neither does she. I said that is what I would say if she had said that to me. She knows enough not to say that to me and there is no reason that she would say that to me. We have a good time joking with each other and we both know that if we ever stop joking and poking fun at each other that the sparks of life are over for both of us. We have been together for almost 30 years and every day is a new adventure. We both would not have it any other way.

Well, if you're going to use it for a worek vehicle, it doesn't look too bad.
If you're going to restore it to "show" condition...wow! Lotta work!
If you don't mind me asking....what did you pay for that Unimog? I'd love to have one but can't even come close to justifying the cost (even if it was given to me).

The MD Dept of Natural Resources had one of those about 30 years ago... Unfortunately, it was a Hanger Queen.

And he got them for about 1/2 of what it would cost to replace them today!! And now I am really inspired to repair this thing! So what are your plans for this machine? Restore and build an RV like the guy whose site you linked? Or, are you going to use it as a worker?

I'd mentioned the MD. Dept of Natural Resources (may have been Dept. of Forests and Parks back then) had a Unimog.
It wasn't used too much...it was rigged as an off road firetruck as would be expected. The neat thing (but also it's downfall) was the body could be shifted hydraulically for crossing over slopes. The hydraulic system was it's downfall, as it was pretty complex and the DNR didn't have the capabilities to maintain it.
My father worked as a park superindendent in those days. He was the one who took me to see it (so, it must have been 35 to 40 years ago, since I was in my early teens then).
This particular Unimog was based in NE Maryland...Cecil County, if I recall. It would have probably been more suited to Western Maryland.
