I definitely missed it. I was counting on cold weather to do some land clearing under comfortable conditions, and only remember one weekend where it was actually cold -- every other weekend was milder than it should have been for this area.

This past weekend I saw lots of ticks out, and today I mowed my grass for the first time. Both events are much earlier than I remember in the past.

Thanks y'all, it is true paradise here..........:)

If y'all have some neat winter pic's of your place...post 'em up:thumbsup:

Yes, I think the insects are going to be really bad and we are also seeing ticks. The heel flys were tough on the horses last summer, so I need to stay ahead of them this year.

I'm concerned that the bugs will be worse this summer without ever having a hard deep freeze this winter. I just hope the stinkbugs don't make it this far north.

I'm enjoying our record 70F weather. We didn't have winter this year but did last year. This year was an all-time record warm winter.

Sure hate to see horses turned out wearing halters.

These guys are big enough to snap any halter, but your right and they usually don't wear one.

No real winter in the Virginia mountains. Two tiny snowfalls... That melted within a day. Worse, there was no real cold weather and survivor bugs will be out in force this summer. It'll be almost 80 here today. 30 degrees warmer than normal. Makes hard outside spring work less enjoyable.

For me with the amount of snow we usually get in this neck of the woods this past winter was a welcome break.

MotorSeven I like your taste in dogs.

Let me be the first to say , I did not miss winter one little bit...here in the Piedmont area of Georgia we went from fall to summer.....that is a first in at least 40 yrs. that I can remember....we had no snow or ice storms and only one or two days of temps in the 20's. This is the first year in a very long time that we have had no snow and not had a damaging Ice storm with prolonged power outages and much tree damage so I am glad .
