Another wall-eyed weekend has passed by and nobody died. That always amazes me. Weekends is the time when hubby catches up with all the little indescretions that happen over the course of the week and the proverbial poopy hits the fan.

"Who left my battery charger out in the back yard?!"

"I know nothing." I say innocently. How could I narc on Jake? He got the riding mower running for me. I will just pull him to the side and remind him not to do that anymore.

"Who put the dent in the Ford...piled the stuff on top of the freezer...left the gate open...let the dog out....let the cat in...BROKE MY TOMATO PLANT!!??"

Can he tell my grin is fixed and fake?

"I suspect it was farm gremlins, dear. You know how pesky those things are."

"How do you know!?" He stares me down and my grin starts to wobble. "What qualifies you to make that determination!?" Eye to eye, nose to nose. "Are YOU an expert in farm gremilins?"

"No"....I start to sidle out of reach..."but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night." Weak giggle.

Momentary silence.

"One of these days," he says waving fist around dramatically..."bang! To the moon, Cindi!"
