I was cleaning some big time brush and bramble this evening and punctured what appears to be a hydraulic return hose. The hose is about five inches long and about 1.25" in diameter. It is located under the right hand side of the tractor under the operator's station. It appears to be made of the same material as radiator hose. This hose couples a pipe to a big black cylindrical tank looking piece. Anyone know what the names are for these pieces?

I also lost what appears to be a significant amount of fluid, so it looks like a bucket of THF 500 trans/hydraulic fluid is going to be the bulk of the cost of the repair, as I don't expect the hose to be very high.

I don't know what Mahindra's names are but that tank is the power steering filter housing - it has a pleated cartridge filter inside. The hose you broke is a suction hose, no pressure on it, and yes, it seems to made of radiator hose material but I wouldn't try using that type of hose because some radiator hose materials don't take to oils very well. Surely that hose isn't terribly expensive from the dealer but just in case - Surplus Center handles it, I saw it listed in their catalogue. www.surpluscenter.com You will have lost quite a bit of trans. fluid with that hose broken since it draws from the lower part of the trans.
