It's a little off subject, but here's a couple pictures of the deck we built. The concrete was for under the deck.

Those are great pictures.
How are you able to post such a large, clear picture? When I stay in the required size they always post small.

Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif It took 2 of us 40 consecutive days to build (evenings and weekends). A spare hand now and then depending on where we were in the project.

Not sure how my camera does so well. It's a Sony Mavica. I set the resolution to 640x480 to get smaller files. Camera uses floppy disks which is handy for uploading to the PC.

O.K. Steve. I promised some pictures from our Police station project.

Here's a shot of that specialized cement delivery truck I had mentioned. Like I thought, it was just leaving when I got back from lunch. But I think you can see the conveyor belt on top. It telescopes out and can be raised like a crane boom.

Here's a shot of the largest crane on the job site. Don't have a clue as to what kind it is. It really belches the blue smoke though! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This is a shot of a couple of workers running some powered finishers (?). I'd never seen the kind that you sit on before! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif It was cool to watch them. They'd move their control sticks, which were in front of their knees, like a pilot would use rudder pedals.

Last shot is of almost the entire project. You can clearly see how much concrete these guys did today. There will be more building just to the right and behind that white building you can see in the lower right side. That building is an old auto repair service. Years ago it was a tire service. I know, because I worked there when I was in high school! That was a great job for a high school kid. After fixing a lot of the flats that we fixed, we would often have to drive the vehicle back to our shop. We specialized in industrial/agricultural tires, so I got to drive big trucks, loaders, buses (Greyhounds) and all kinds of tractors!

Anyway, the current owner of the building demanded $2 million for his little shop if the City wanted to use the entire block for the new Police station. The City said, Thanks but no thanks. We can design it around you! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Power trowel... Ride on... The red one looks like an Allen. They build them in my town. Their largest one has a 12' path and a Kubota diesel. A friend used to work there and says they really scoot at full travel speed. Allen Engineering
