Hi Brother, I know this make you feel uncomfortable that a Chinese man say US machine is not safe enough.

First of all, I have to say, most of Chinese implements are even worse. The Chinese people life is cheap here in China, you could know that from internet.

Second, I m always studying some tractor implements all over the world, I have to say, European tractor implement for professional farmer, they are safer than the US brand machine, it's true. If you can look closer and compare them, you will agree with me. At this point, there are a lot of work that US manufacturers could do.

Any piece of equipment that is usable is going to have points that can and will grab you, if you as an individual slip up.
We don't know why this particular incident happened, if it was a header pickup issue a belt issue or twine wrapper issue,
but apparently he tried to fix it with it running and something went wrong, we can kick a slug out of a pickup or flip a belt back into place
a hundred times and 101 can bite.

There should be an emergency stop device to shut down the feeding when user is grabbed.

Not practical on many pieces of equipment, they trip in normal use and then get defeated.

After just shy of 50 years responding with fire departments to unimaginable number of industrial and farming accidents, I have gotten to the point of looking at each piece of machinery and thinking in my mind how can this kill me and do I want to die alone right here. That has caused me to turn off a lot of running equipment even if it took a couple more minutes.

Even slow rotating devices. We had a guy get his hand stuck in a large irrigation reel sprinkler and to get loose while it was pulling him in he had to get a pocket knife out and cut off his own hand.

Think less about getting the job done than how this can be a bad idea.

Today our neighbor factory had a worker's foot hit by forklift rear wheel, his feet was broken and pressed flat. It's an accident. Hot weather make worker careless.

This we know, each of us has only a limited time on this earth, even if it is 100 years that is not long in the grand scheme of eternity. Not knowing what the accident was it might prove to have been even a health issue lead to it, regardless he has passed away and no doubt left family and friends who shall miss him. Yet listening to what was said about him it seems he worked to improve lives of others, not something a selfish person would do. May his family and friends know God's peace in this time of loss.

Jack Yuan - You're right about Europe safety standards being tighter. Value life and limb more? If meeting the safety requirement is not too expensive manufacturers will use it on North American product for commonality. If significant $$$, North Americans can do without. An example, Europe requires brakes all axles. USA requires meeting a stopping distance from max speed and manufacturers will do only wants needed. I investigated an accident where an operator lost his only brake working on a mine pit slope. He ended up over a half mile backwards into trees that stopped him but he did have the sense to steer straight so he didn't roll on the slope.
