Looks like you now have some orange material available to pad that sharp edge

Wow. What a poor design. Yeah grind that off round and put something like a tennis ball on it so that if you slip and hit it you still have a decent solid cushion. Thin foam won't help much.

OUCH!

When I was a kid and I'd get a nasty scrape like that, my mom would spray some Bactine on there to make it hurt even more, ah, errr, I mean to make it better. I always wonders if moms were just trying to make the experience worse so you'd think twice about doing something like that again?

Rounded off with grinder, insulation, tape, zip ties, more insulation & tape.
Now I need to wash blood off seat!
