The good thing about those skinny tires is they go through mud. Nephew has had it up to the axles and keeps going. Finally got it stuck once though, just too deep.
A friend has a Kioti with R4s I think they are. He said there is no way that he could go through the stuff we do.

That is true about the skinny tires in mud. Unfortunately, they also cut in when you don't want them to in soft ground. I do have the factory weights on the wheels, but another set would be nice. When in the woods, it is not practical to have a heavy grader blade or something like that protruding from the back of the tractor. It makes maneuvering to hard.

When you start running around with the bucket full or heavy objects being put in the bucket like Greg says, all the weight the better on the 3 PT. Definitely gives the tractor more stability. Still have to use common sense though and if you don't think you can make it across a slope you're better off not trying............

I think the primary thing I learned from a tilt meter was my pucker factor was ahead of any real danger. You can feel like the angle is too much and sometimes that may be true and other times not. The meter can help you have some idea anyway although I certainly agree you don't need further distraction when negotiating a slope especially if your doing loader work.

I'd have to heartily agree with the rear weight line of thought. I got use to running my Jinma around with the original R1's/rear wheel weights with a front loader & 6' Woods rake on the back for counterweight. Got tired of tearing up the lawn & bought a set of turf tires....NO REAR WHEEL WEIGHTS... Wasn't 10 minutes & I had it up on 3 wheels with a stump in the bucket.. Just not having those wheel weights made a BIG difference.... I try to keep the hoe on it now for ballast/works pretty good but there are times when the hoe has to come off & I really think my next project when time allows is getting those rear turf tires ballasted with liquid....

OK, I turned my wheels to their widest setting. It is 64" from outer sidewall to outer sidewall. Not sure if I like it that way or not. I will run it awhile and see. It looks like a a lot more stress on the outer axles/hubs.
I agree the extra weight would also help. I also think the width has alot to do with stability.

Try something like this. I've got this hanging on my FEL tractor.

Cost about 35$ plus a surplus (reusable) drawbar.. and a surplus plastic tub some cattel feed suppliments had come in.
