I prefer to be proactive instead of reactive - I tell them they wouldn't get the "selectively deaf" so often if they would practice "selectively mute" once and a while  ...did I mention I'm divorced...lol The new one understands me :D

Too funny Dave!!
Years ago a girl friend of mine decided to complain (to her relatives at a dinner party) about how I never wanted to do anything with her two young children. When all eyes turned to me I calmly said " but sweetie, just last week I offered to drop them off at the orphanage ". No sense of humor. Everyone knew there were no orphanages in our area....

My wife and I have been married for 19 years this September. About twenty years ago, she offered me the choice and stated it as this "no ring, no tractor." It has worked out for both of us! She set my bag limit on tractors, but now our boys are in their "tractor years" so the herd may swell a bit as they 'need' a yard tool to get their chores done in good order and on time.

I've heard that men's attendence span is only six minutes while the wife is speaking. I thought, Wow, that long?

Right. My cutoff switch is almost instant. 6 minutes would be very hard to endure.

I use the extra 5 minutes and 45 seconds to walk out to the shop, unlock it, turn on the lights, open the doors, grab a cold beer, and start contemplating which project to start thinking about!:cool2: 445A

LOL. Too funny! My wife passed away ten years ago last November. She had a good sense of humour and would gotten a chuckle out of that.
