Tractor
Cub Cadet LGTX 1054
I recently got a 2011-12 Cub Cadet SLTX 1054 at an auction. It only had 110 service hours. First try at my 2.5 acre lawn did not go well. I have a very mild grade slope and the tractor would not be able to climb the hill - so I turned and cut cross ways and it seemed to be OK. I have a transmission issue it seems, it is a hydrostatic. So I have a new problem.
Any help?

I wish! I can get the tractor to ease forward by literally grabbing the wheels like a wheelchair.

Well, we are not sure.. but if the transmission is the Tuff Torque K46 which is a non serviceable model.. then you will want to read this thread.

When you bought it did it come with any service records? Do you know if the hydrostatic fluid and filter were ever changed? Just a possibility. Hopefully you didn't get taken buying one with a problematic K46.

If it is the dreaded K46, there is no way to change the fluid, and there is no filter.. That is the problem. A self destructing grenade. The hours are about right for the problem to start showing up.

I didn't read all of the posts to the link you provided so wasn't aware. Seems kinda dumb not to have any way to change the fluid. Thanks for that info James.

Drill a hole at the bottom. Thread and put in a plug. Drill a hole at the top. Refill with cheap stuff. Run and drain. Repeat. Put in good stuf. Try it out.
