Thanks rancar -
I had the adjustable links on my old JD2010 utility and like you say, make attachment so much easier. With my little 2210 I never even thought of them. Will be checking with my dealer next week.

I have impliments other than JD that I use on the iMatch without a problem /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My dealer told me the Imatch would work with all true cat. 1 equipment, that has been manufactured in the past few years. Something about the standard being adapted for lower link spacing and top link hight.

The JD IMatch assumes the standard Cat 1 spacing of ~26" between and ~16" up to the top link. My implements vary everywhere from 14" to 21" on the top link with most being within an inch for the lift arms. Also the space under the top link must be clear for at least 4"+ for the top hook to engage. Almost none of my implements have that space.

As I understand it the newer JD attachments all will match but maybe not older ones. Most third party attachments do not have the clearance at the top hook.

I got a Speeco (lot less money)and which has an upper hook that adjusts to fit all my implements. Some require me to get off but with a PTO hookup thats necessary anyway. All in all the quick hitch is a great timesaver over the telescoping links. This is especially true with a top and tilt lift.

I went and looked at the Speedco with the adjustable top link feature today at TSC. It was $169.99 vs. the $180 I was quoted for the I-Match. Certainly, if I need that, it would be invaluable. Obviously, the ten bucks isn't much of an issue... probably even less so that the color.

The money that is a consideration is the $20 I'd have to spend to equip each implement beyond the first one with Speedco bushings so the implement will be compatible with the speed hitch.

If I put the included pair on my box blade, I have to buy a pair each for my finish mower, rotary cutter, carry all and anticipated trailer mover/boom pole I'm into another eighty bucks (effectively) to buy the Speedco IF the I-Match doesn't require such bushings. If it does require them, then the eighty dollar issue is moot.

Two (more) questions on this now come to mind. Does anyone know if the I-Match needs the aforementioned bushings? How likely am I to need the adjustable top link if all of my implements are no older than a couple of years? I have a First Choice box blade, Woods finish mower, King Kutter rotary cutter, King Kutter tiller and King Kutter carry all. Does anyone have experience matching any of those to either the I-Match or the Speedco? Thanks!

hi Gary

The Imatch also requires a bushing, I paid 10 bucks a pair for the Speedco bushings which work with the Imatch too.

All my attactments are Imatch compatible at this point. My dealer was unable to get me the Imatch for the weekend so loaned me a Speedco hitch, so I've had a chance to try both.

I have a JD lx 4 rotery cutter, frontier BB and frontier land scape rake, the Speedco did not work well with any of em, one attacthment worked with the upper hook, the rest did not, so I was constantly removing the hook and installing the adjustable upper link, it seemed to me the hook did not stick out far enough, the bolts that hold the hook on would hit before the hook would engage. It was not a quick hitch, I spent more time working on attaching implements then using them. The Imatch works as advertised as long as your implements are imatch compatable. In my opinion the time required to remove the hook and install the adjustable link defeats the purpose of a quick hitch, it would be better to modify you implements to fit the the solid hook on the hitch.
