I've learned that I can't tell my wife to not do something because her name isn't on it.

You can't but the law does.
If her name wasn't on the truck title it was an illegal sale.

I'm sure the old girl is going to a good home with a guy who is willing to put a new exhaust on it and run it a few more years. He can't afford the newer truck you purchased, and will love and respect your old friend as much as you did ! Rest easy !

Well this might burst his bubble. It'll probably be wholesaled off or auctioned off. If it runs well, it will tow another vehicle....straight to mexico. I-10 west has caravans of the mexican drivers towing cars to mexico.

IF the title wasn't in her name I don't see how she could have sold it.

Therein lies the key, the truck actually was in her name. When I purchased the truck, I was working 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 7 days a week. I had been looking at the truck every day as I drove by the lot to work. One day on my lunch hour, I stopped in and gave it the once over and a test drive. When I got back to work, I called my wife and told her about the truck and how much I liked it. When I got home that night, the truck was parked in my pole barn. She had went down to the lot and purchased it for me and hid it from me in the barn. She said she had a little honey do job for me to do, and I would have to go out to the barn to get my ladder. There it was, very much to my surprise. So it was bought in her name, so I guess she sold HER truck instead of mine. lol....doesn't make it hurt any less when Charlie comes by the house in it pulling that trailer tho.....Kong
