Re: I need a bigger \'you know what\'

After looking at some of the pics here, have your you tried to slide your bucket under one side/end, curling it (which should have more power available, and then hooking a chain around the rest and backing it where it needs to go?

It might gouge, but might be your only way to do it with your existing tools.

Sorry if this is redundant to what you have tried..........

Best wishes,

Ron

Me thinks it should called "Carrymost"? or "Carry-not-to-heavy", but definitely not "Carryall"...

Jerry,

I think NOW would be the perfect time to approach the wife about the bigger "you know what." /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: I need a bigger \'you know what\'

I can't take credit for my idea--I saw a Michigan front end loader LIFT the front of a FULL, HEAVY semi trailer that had broken through the ashphalt and was resting on it's 5th wheel plate, which was right on the ground!

The loader bucket was wider than the front of the trailer, but he had to slide under it, curl to raise it, then block the trailer to get a new bite. Took about 15 minutes, but he got the trailer to the right height! This was 20 YRs ago--saw the driver slip the loader guy a $100 and they both were happy! Had he needed a wrecker, I'm sure the bill would have been higher; plus this was in small town America (North Dakota IIRC). Fortunately for us (I was the assist driver), the pipe line crew was overniting where we were and was able to help us.

If you are able to accomplish this, you might be able to slip a couple strips of plywood under the rock to save the turf on the way to the final resting spot.

Best wishes,
Ron

Re: I need a bigger \'you know what\'

No good.

Curling the bucket just lifts the rear of the tractor off the ground. (with 600lbs of fluid in the tires)

I guess I'll just wait till I can get ahold of the contractor.
