I need a new 6\' cutter.......

I am looking for a new 6' cutter. I don't want the low end and probably don't need (& can't afford) the upper end units. I like a good quality unit for cutting a 7 acre pasture & in between rows of pines, old roadways hunting leases ect. Moderate brush but no 3" type stuff. I guess I'd want a stump jumper, slip clutch ect. Not sure what hp rated gear box to shoot for ect. I use a Kubota 3830 GST which is 32 hp at the pto. Any suggestions, thoughts ect would be appreciated.

Check out the Woods BB72, which is a "medium duty" cutter with slip clutch and laminated rear wheel. I had a BB60 for 2 years and it took a heck of a beating with no problems. The BB72 is identical to the BB60, just bigger. I think its rated for 25-55 HP. My 35 HP tractor pulls it very nicely. It has ugly orange paint, but hey, you can't have everything. I paid ~$900 for it.

Since price is a factor.. I'm not sure why you don't want a light or medium duty cutter for the stuff you mentioned. Something in the KK line should eat that right up. And at 645 at TSC,.. that's not too bad a price... Howse is even cheaper.

I'f cut quite a bit of stuff with my KK.. sufff I though was sure to tear up the mower... with no ill effects other than shear pin..

I agree with Soundguy!!! I've got a King Kutter, and use it hard and often, and never had a problem with it. It's probably the best buy out there.
