I got a call to help remove a "big" tree last week. My trailer didn't have any sides so I built sides using the stake pockets.

I got to the dovetail and back of the trailer and nothing came to mind as to a good way to build. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif There is 1 stake pocket on either side, the rear has nothing. My ramps are stored underneath so I can't use in the design.

I need ideas on how to build a removable tailgate. Please help.

BTW - The tree is BIG!. We cut it down last night. It's an oak and the trunk is a little over 4'. We're still taking out the tops (2 full cord out already) but estimate the total tree to be close to 6 or 7 cord /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif (cord = 128 cu/ft)

Thanks

On the front of my small trailer there is a connector that part attaches to the sides and part to the front end. They interlock together holding it all together. I have seen them in some stores and on the internet, but don't remember where and currently don't have any pictures of them. If I find something I will post them,

That about two of these on one side and two of these on the other?

Thanks.

That is exactly what I was thinking of.

Thanks Jeff & Kurt,

That's what I was thinking of doing. I'll order some for the tailgate.

Just wasn't sure how people were going from the flat sides then down over the dovetail.

Jeff,

I checked it this morning. Nothing... But I planted seed on bare dirt next to it and nothing there either.
We've had bad weather for grass to grow. Neighbor did his entire yard about the same time and his is just starting to come up. I didn't climb up the hill to look super close but I think a lot (if not all) of the seed got washed away as the hill is very steep and we had some serious downpours.
