I NEED A TIP HOW TO SEE IF MY BUCKET IS LEVEL THE GROUND

Steal an idea from Land Pride. Weld some angle iron on bucket. Make a weighted pointer to indicate level.

I was in the Guard with a guy who chewed snoose. He was sloppy and there were always tobacco stains on his shirt and bushy mustache. We said "why don't you quit"? He said he needed it for his job. He was an electrical lineman, and he said if he was setting a pole, if snoose dripped out of the left side of his mouth, the pole was leaning to the left. If snoose dripped out of the right side of his mouth, the pole was leaning to the right. If snoose leaked out out of both sides of his mouth, it was just right. :licking:

True, in another thread some troll went on and on about "level" not being correct term if tractor was not on level ground (up hill, down hill) ... Angle probably is better temp as it indicates relationship of bucket lip/bottom to "plane" of which tires are on....

Anyway an angle (level) indicator has help me quit a bit in may FEL operations....

You describe it the best, I have my tractor and buck level on my garage floor but thats the only level place I have and I dont dig dirt in there. I like the way Kuboto made the bucket angle indicator on my L3400, just a small flat plate on top of bucket to indicate the corresponding cutting edge angle.

Yeah, and my MF had a piece of white tape on top of bucket as "level indicator" but my being old school and a but dumb could grasp how a piece of white stuff indication angle pretty much a protractor/bubble level guy.......SO...

Made a mechanical indicator.... Thread is somewhere on this site but don't want to bother finding it again....

But...

(not sure where first pic came from with hooks, but its not relevant so ignore)

Dale, I remember that thread!!! I'm too lazy to search for it too.

I use the V notched rod type on my Kubota.

I use your type on my Ford TLB In the brush I like yours better. Less chance of catching the rod on something and bending it.

Slick idea and great for posts. I am thinking that with a loader bucket more times than not I am not looking for level with gravity but level with the contour that I am on which means I need an indicator that is relative to the angle the tractor is on. With my Ford I have the rod in a tube type on the arm but with the Versatile I can see the bucket so clearly that I just move it to where I want it by how much the tip is or is not digging.
