2012 Massey Furguson MF1635 (the 1500 series)
I purchased a Massey Furguson 1635 and got all of the filters from the the agco website, but no where does it say what type of oil, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid... any and all info about maintenance will be helpful.. I have a list of filters that I purchased attached
I service my truck, car and boat so I am sure I am up for this, just need info so I do not put in wrong fluids..
thanks In advance,
Paul From Connecticut

According to Tractor Data it has a diesel engine so you would want a diesel rated engine oil. The normally recommended weight is 15W-40 but there are others out there. Figure in needing six quarts though it could take more. As far as the transmission and hydraulic system, they share the same reservoir. The fluid is pretty generic for older manual transmissions. If you have an HST transmission you should probably check with a dealer. I know Kubota recommends that ONLY their fluid be used in their HST transmission. If you have an HST you should check with a dealer to find what's appropriate. The capacity will probably be six to eight gallons at a guess.

Paul, Welcome to TBN. Looks like you have 3 lube filters, so I’m thinking that your tractor is HST. You can’t confuse which filter goes where!!! Synthetic engine oils are great to use but must be diesel rated, commonly 15w40 or 5w40 weights. Verify the correct lube for the transmission and hydraulics. If it’s an HST model that would most likely be all the same oil and share the same sump. Front axle could be the same as the HST oil, but if you do loader work I’d suggest a synthetic gear lube 75w90. Check the manual or buy a manual. Don’t rush into it until you have everything… If you like/need to order lubes on line I get my Amsoil delivered right to my door, fast and usually free. Holler if you need a link.

Any factory literature usually will spec something that they sell.
Regular changes with just about any oil is far more important than the brand name as long as it's got the spec covered. 99% of us will never see 8, 9, 10,000 hours and probably 2,3 & 4000hrs would still hold true. I'd imagine that a lot of guys here don't hit the hourly oil change mark annually.
Like roadworthy said, bringing it down to the basics is a diesel rated motor oil and hydraulic oil. Just do it and save your research for the next one if you like. 👍

Here's some info:

willy
That might have been the recommended oil for a 50 year old Massy,
it is NOT going to be on a current model that will use and need a multi-purpose tractor transmission/hydraulic fluid.

Willy/Williy, SAE 90 is thicker than COLD maple syrup on pancakes. NOT suitable in this modern tractor! Manual or dealer to confirm all lube/filter specs is highly recommended!!!

Welcome to TBN. I agree - call the dealer to be sure. Or find a manual online if possible. Best Wishes

I have a 4x4 Dodge diesel 2500 and It
calls for 75 - 90w gear oil

My Yanmar tractor calls for 90w gear oil

If you will notice the DATE on what I posted
is from the year 2020 not 1970

I lived in Wisconsin for years and
the temps were minus 35F and
never used anything under 90W
for axles
