I need opinions.....

"Made a deal the first week in Nov. on a Case DX33. Stopped in a week later, and dealer says the turf tires aren't in for it yet."

Something really smells here. That adds up to over 6 weeks, waiting for turf tires that you never ordered. I'm sure the dealer has not tried to cancel the order and could do so if he wanted to, since he has no idea when they will be delivered.

I would say that the dealer is waiting for a load of tractors etc to come in. The tires will be on that load. He could get them quicker, but they would cost a good deal more to ship. That is one of the problems when ordering items from whole goods instead of parts. It is a trade off, slow speed of arrival vs money.

Even so, I would bet a week's pay the dealer never tried to cancel.

I've been following this thread for a few days. I believe you did the best thing you could have done by talking to the dealer about the situation. I, too, am reluctant to renege on a deal after I've given my word.

It's possible the dealer could be having some business problems (cash flow or the like) that might be hindering the delivery of your turf tires. Anyway, your situation sounds very strange to me.

The fact that he gave you a tractor to use is good. For me, I'd use it like I needed, and not worry about the hours. I'd rather be patient and keep my word. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We have found that other than a two wheel drive compact we would never cancel an order as if your out of it, chances are you shouldn't be if some one wants it. It does sometimes take quite a while to get some stuff trying to put rim and tire purchases together and waiting for the production. We have waited for Curtis Cabs for over six weeks before in the heat of the season so to speak. I have a BX1500 with cab and heat with blower nearly mounted except for a completing kit for the PTO. This unit has been sold once and the buyer backed out beause of time. I'd like to have the kit, been to all the local dealers and to no avail.
